No - let me look it up later in my 200 Verbs, but I'm fairly sure the imperative would be evanescate. You might be able to find a Latin translation of the play, though, that'd be my best bet. Else, take it to linguaphiles. They'll nail it down for you for sure, or I'll come back to this later when I'm up, k? Feel free to poke me about it, though - I'm a rotten one for remembering things like this.
I actually tried to find a translation of the play and failed. I figured someone -had- to have done that by now, but if they have, they haven't made it easy to google.
Hm - well, try the linguaphiles, then, or I can check it when I'm up for good. I'm just getting my meds then lying back down - Chelle and I were up til 5am talking. :)
Sigh. I suck sometimes. I just made the post, having forgotten *again*. OMG my memory is getting bad. Sorry. I'll let you know as soon as I hear (and won't forget this time, because I'll be getting e-mails!).
*chuckle* It's ok. Not life or death. I haven't even taken a second pass through that chapter yet. ;) Just that I have no hope of doing translations on my own. =)
Awesome! Thanks. :) Most likely only I will be amused because I'll know what the phrase means, but I think that's reason enough to try to get it right.
Were you interested in signing up to be part of the steampunk MMO game writing team I wrote to you about?
Job hunting is -awful-. Been at it for many months myself, so I completely understand. What do you do besides translation work?
I shall tell bossman "definitely, maybe". =) I haven't contributed much to the project, lately, mostly because of other creative projects getting in the way, but they seem ok with giving me time.
You check Quill & Quire, yeah? If you can write children's stories, the Story Something posting looks interesting, although it's tough to tell what they actually do.
Wish I had acquisitions experience... two places up there are looking for someone with that... :P

I just wanted to "Out, out damn spot!" translated into latin :)
One was:
Exi, macula exitiosa, inquam, exi!
The other was quite different, and has a mistake in it (but not one I know how to fix):
Abe, macula damnata! Diceo, abe!
The post is here

There's also a Canadian editors association that has a job board, but it costs money to join.

I don't know how useful that is, as we don't really have a similar organization down here, but getting one job from it would probably cover the cost.
