They should have had Kutner go work for the White House medical liason office. Or up on a space shuttle as a medic. Even THAT would have been more believable.
It just struck me as a writer cop-out. They couldn't think of anything to do that would somehow be part of a case, so they literally just offed him. Blah.
Although I did find it interesting that they did an online memorial to try to mitigate the cluster suicide phenomenon.
No, I didn't either. Mostly because I didn't feel -that- strongly about Kutner to need to express anything like sorrow. But I'm sure there are people who do. And there have been shows where I probably would have gone to commiserate with others.
I didn't feel the need to express the "loss" of a fictional character, anyway.
The writers/producers justified his sudden offing as a sign that House is losing his ability to solve puzzles. This is one puzzle he can't solve and it vexes him. He is terribly vexed.
But I heard a rumor that it will be revealed that Wilson and Cutty knew something about something...likely to mitigate the viewer outrage that this came so far out of left field.
Sorry, but ANYONE thinking of offing themselves leaves little signs. Perhaps tiny and subtle, but there. Kal Penn asked the producers if, a few eps back, he should start indicating little hints, and they said not at all.
It's just a poopy thing to do. I mean, if they're just going to off someone, I nominate Cameron. Or Chase. Or both.

That was a dumb choice by the producers. Seems very responsible of Kal Penn to recognize that those things should be there and want to put them in.
